Change is Inevitable

The world is constantly changing. The seasons change, the weather changes.

And we must change. Change is inevitable – and it is good.

Yet, most people are resistant to change. Most individuals are reluctant to step out of their comfort zone and are afraid of change. If we want to be successful, we must learn to embrace change. Adapting to changing circumstances is a critical survival skill.  If we choose not to move forward, we will be left behind.

A WISE Retreat addiction rehab center was founded in 2014. Our rehab center was a result of a dream that manifested itself from the need to change the status quo in the way residential rehab treatment programs were being run.

We believed – among other things – that gender specific programming in a safe home-like environment would be a key factor in the success of long-term recovery. And we were right!

Taking a leap of faith, we made the changes needed to our policy and procedures. We opened our doors to women only.

The five years from 2014-2019 were enlightening, insightful and incredibly gratifying. We had the opportunities to work with women from different demographics, cultures and beliefs. We had a high success rate of long-term recovery. We made real human connections and grew leaps and bounds from these experiences.

And, A WISE Retreat has grown professionally. We have discovered new tools, new perspectives – and we have become more compassionate.

Growing exponentially – in 2019, we decided to make another change.

In 2019 – A WISE Retreat dedicated the next five years to serving the male population for addiction treatment and dual diagnosis. We are now a rehab for men. Using an integrated treatment program, we treat addiction at the same time as depression, anxiety, PTSD and more.

We are a Northern California Addiction Rehab for Men – serving the U.S., the Bay Area and California.

Our goal at A WISE Retreat is to give men the opportunity to recover from addiction in a gender specific program that includes a safe, confidential and home-like environment.

Addiction Recovery at A WISE Retreat is facilitated by professional and compassionate staff members who truly care about the success of our clients’ long term recovery.

We are determined to continue to grow, to evolve and to progress in our professional development. We seek to better serve men and women suffering from the detrimental disease of addiction and co-occurring disorders. We understand the importance of change and the many benefits that come from change.
